Privacy policy
1. Who runs this site
The Event Trip is an independently operated publication based in Los Angeles, California, United States. It is the site's own publisher; it is not owned by, operated by, or acting as an agent of any venue, hotel, team, promoter, parking operator or travel brand named on it. For any privacy question, including a request under the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, write to editor@theeventtrip.com.
2. Information we collect directly
None. Specifically:
- There is no registration, login or user account.
- There are no contact, subscription, quote or lead-capture forms anywhere on the site.
- There is no comment section and no user-generated content.
- We do not sell, rent, share or disclose personal information, because we do not hold any.
If you choose to email us, we receive whatever you put in that email. We use it only to reply, and we do not add it to any mailing list.
3. Cookies and similar technologies
This site sets no cookies of its own. Your colour-theme choice, light or dark, is stored in your own browser's local storage on your device. It never leaves your device, is not readable by us, and you can clear it at any time by clearing site data in your browser.
4. Analytics
No analytics or measurement product is installed on this site. There is no Google Analytics, no Google Tag Manager, no Meta pixel, no heatmap tool and no session recorder. We do not know who visits, how many, or which pages they read. If that changes, this policy will be updated before the tool is installed and the change will be noted with a date.
5. Third parties that see your IP address
Parts of every page are delivered by third-party services. Because those services deliver files directly to your browser, they necessarily see your IP address, your approximate location derived from it, your browser and device type, and the page you were on. We do not control what they do with that. Their own privacy policies govern it, and they are linked here so you can read them.
| Service | What it does here | Their policy |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel | Hosts and serves the site's pages and files | Vercel privacy policy |
| Fontshare (Indian Type Foundry) | Serves the Zodiak and Switzer webfonts | Fontshare privacy policy |
| jsDelivr | Content delivery network for the JavaScript libraries used by the interactive map and globe | jsDelivr privacy policy |
| OpenFreeMap | Serves the base-map tiles on the parking map | OpenFreeMap |
| Expedia Group / affiliate networks | Only if you click an outbound booking link. See section 6. | Expedia privacy statement |
6. Affiliate links and the tracking behind them
Some outbound links on this site are affiliate links. When, and only when, you click one, the affiliate network and the merchant behind it will typically set their own cookie or equivalent identifier in your browser so that a resulting booking can be credited to this site. That happens on their domain, under their privacy policy, not ours. We never receive your name, email address, payment details, booking details or any other personal information from those merchants. We receive only aggregate commission reporting, which does not identify individual users.
Every affiliate link on this site is labelled on the page it appears on, and the full arrangement is set out on the affiliate disclosure page.
7. Advertising
This site runs no display advertising, no ad network and no retargeting. Affiliate links are its only commercial relationship.
8. Children
This site is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Since the site collects no personal information from anyone, there is nothing for a parent to request deletion of. If you believe otherwise, contact editor@theeventtrip.com.
9. Your rights
Residents of California, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and other jurisdictions with comparable law have rights to access, correct, delete and port personal data held about them, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. Because this site holds no personal data about you, there is in practice nothing for us to produce or erase. We will still answer any such request in writing.
- Do not sell or share. We do not sell or share personal information, for any consideration, and never have.
- Global Privacy Control. The site sets no tracking, so there is no signal for it to override.
- Requests. Email editor@theeventtrip.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
10. Data retention and security
We retain no visitor data, so there is no retention period to state. Email correspondence is kept only as long as needed to resolve the matter it concerns. The site is served over HTTPS on all pages.
11. International visitors
The site is operated from the United States and its third-party providers may process requests in the United States and elsewhere. By using the site you understand that page delivery involves those providers as described in section 5.
12. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, for example if analytics are added, the date at the top will change and the substance of the change will be described here rather than made silently.
