The Event Trip exists because almost every "parking near the arena" page on the internet is written by someone who has never been to the building, invents lot names that do not exist, and quotes a confident price the venue itself refuses to publish. These guides are written from the operating side of hospitality, and every claim carries the source it came from.
Who writes it
The site is written and researched by a single author: a hotel general manager and hospitality operator based in Los Angeles, with roughly 25 years on the operating and ownership side of hotels, including operations, asset management and development. The relevant part of that background is unglamorous: years of handling the moment a guest arrives at the wrong entrance, at the wrong time, with the wrong document. That is what these guides are about.
It is one person, not a content team and not a generator. That is the constraint the publishing pace is set by.
How a guide gets researched
- Start at the venue's own pages. Parking, "how to get here", "know before you go", and the FAQ. These are the only authority on entry rules, garage names and official transport. Where the venue refuses to publish something, such as a parking price, the guide says the venue refuses to publish it rather than inventing a figure.
- Then the operators, agencies and city. Transit agencies for service and span, the city for street-parking law and event advisories, the designated parking vendor for what is actually on sale.
- Then reporting. Named news outlets for incidents that actually happened, dated, so you can judge whether it still applies.
- Then fan accounts, clearly labelled. Things like how long it takes to get out of a specific garage level exist nowhere official. Where a fan report is the only evidence, the guide links it and calls it anecdote instead of dressing it up as data.
- Then the honest gaps. Every guide states what could not be confirmed and why. A guide with no unknowns in it is a guide that guessed.
The standards, stated plainly
- Sourced or gone. A factual claim either links to the source it came from or does not appear.
- Dated where it decays. Prices, listings and opening status are stamped with the date they were checked, because they will be wrong eventually.
- Labelled by confidence. Official, third-party reported, and anecdotal are three different things and are never presented as one.
- Opinion marked as opinion. "Pay the premium for the garage with the bridge" is a judgement, not a fact, and reads like one.

How it makes money
Affiliate commission on some hotel booking links, disclosed on the page and in full on the affiliate disclosure page. No display advertising, no sponsored posts, no paid placement, no paid rankings. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed here first.
What is published, and what is coming
Coverage is being built venue by venue rather than launched wide and thin. Each venue gets a full arrival guide, covering entry, parking, driving, transit, neighbourhood and food, plus a separate hotel guide comparing the clusters around it. Intuit Dome in Inglewood is published; the next venues are listed on the home page. If you want a specific venue moved up the queue, say so.
